As concerns about food security and access to quality nutrition grew among farmers, veterans, and our local community, Briarwood Cattle Farm knew something had to be done. That’s why we established Feeding America Real Meat (F.A.R.M.), a 501a non-profit dedicated to helping individuals gain control over their food sources. This 501a non-profit organization was created to ensure access to fresh, nutritious meat while educating people on canning/food preservation, small-scale farming, and ethical animal processing. Our goal is to reduce food insecurity and empower individuals with hands-on skills to produce and sustain their own food sources.

Our Mission

Our mission is to empower the community with the knowledge and resources needed to take control of their food future. The mission of Feeding America Real Meat (F.A.R.M. 501a Non-Profit) is to bridge the gap between food insecurity and food education, ensuring that individuals have both access to and knowledge of sustainable food sources. Many people today are disconnected from the food they consume, relying on grocery stores without understanding where their food originates. Through our educational outreach workshops, we teach the community how to take control of their nutrition by learning small-scale farming, urban gardening, food preservation, and livestock processing. Our canning workshops provide step-by-step guidance on safely storing fruits, vegetables, and meats, while our gardening classes demonstrate how to grow food in limited spaces. Additionally, our animal processing workshops give hands-on experience in humane butchering techniques, ensuring that families and local farmers can maximize their resources. With a particular focus on veterans, we offer specialized programs that provide agricultural skills and food security education, helping them transition into self-sustaining lifestyles. By promoting farm-to-table education, we empower individuals to take ownership of their food supply, fostering healthier communities and a stronger connection to sustainable agriculture.
